In the words of our first gear engineer, William McKinlay, "the best gear for any application is the least expensive one that will do the required job."

And the best process of creating that gear is through shared technology. In fact, rather than patent our discovery work in plastics gearing, we opted to share our knowledge.

As a result, we published the first edition of our "Plastics Gearing" manual in 1967 ... and it's still the industry standard on gear design and manufacturing.

The manual is recently updated with a new chapter on crown gears. You can access electronic versions of both the new chapter and the full Plastics Gearing manual by submitting a request.
