Insert Molding

ABA-PGT can supply a molded plastic part with a pre-placed inserts – most of which are metal. Some of the applications are:

• metal axles placed into the carrier of a planetary gear train
• metal shafts at the center of a molded gear
• encoder/gears with embedded magnets – protecting the magnets from rust

We have developed strategic alliances with approved sources for screw machine and sintered metal inserts.

We use robotics to load metal inserts to assure repeatable cycle time and reduce labor costs. Our internally designed “Flex-Cell”, provides customers with lower quantity requirements the same benefits as a cell developed for higher quantities – resulting in less expenditure for automation tooling.
